unnamed (1)Services

Jon and Claire aim to make their assessments as real to your every day life and goals as possible.  For example, if you are a runner we want to see you run.  If you ride, we want to see you ride.  This allows us to get a real-life glimpse on what you put your body through and often allows us to spot signs and symptoms that might not have presented in an artificial clinic environment.

Our physiotherapy sessions are very interactive and we take the time the listen to you as well as ensure that you understand our rationale and clinical reasoning for treatments or home exercises prescribed.

Neurological rehabilitation

At Intrinsi, our neurological training and our approach to therapy targets specific and meaningful aspects of your life. This involves working towards lots of clear short term goals, with the bigger picture targets in mind. We focus on the impairments that can affect your daily function and use specific strategies and techniques to
get you the fastest results possible.

Sports rehabilitation and training

Jon and Claire’s approach to rehabilitation is very diverse and perhaps different to what most people have experienced when seeing a physiotherapist.  We specifically target your goals  through functional tasks. This involves a thorough initial assessment as well as regular evaluation to ensure treatment is effectively targeting your issues.

Our difference

We do not follow a rigid structure, assessment and treatment. We adapt our approach to each client, therefore you will  experience a personalized approach to your therapy.   We consider our services to be a metaphorical ‘tool belt’ rather than a ‘cookie-cutter’ approach. We are excited to have a wide variety of options for treatment, but perform services deliberately and only if there is a strong rationale.  Services that we might perform include:

  • Specific exercise prescription to improve efficiency and prevent further complications
  • Manual therapy
  • Soft tissue mobilization
  • Sports massage
  • Acupuncture and Intra-muscular stimulation (IMS)
  • Kinesio and stability taping
  • Gait analysis and re-training
  • Postural correction facilitation
