What Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture can do for you!

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on more than 3500 years of Chinese Medicinal practices that includes Acupuncture, Cupping and Herbal Therapy. TCM approaches health from a holistic standpoint looking at underlying imbalances and disharmonies. TCM practioners have a different approach to looking at the body and through a thorough assessment (which includes a tongue and pulse diagnosis) can determine underlying root causes of imbalances. TCM is an awesome natural alternative for treatment of illness as well as optimization of health and prevention of disease.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and involves the insertion of fine needles at strategic points on the body to balance the flow of energy or life force better known as chi or qi (chee). By utilizing this life force and treating any imbalances, Acupuncture can be used to treat everything from acute and chronic pain, stress and anxiety, digestive issues, sleep issues, women’s health, stroke, concussion and even your every day cold and flu.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient part of TCM in which cups are placed on the skin with suction, creating a vacuum, almost the reverse of a massage. This treatment style mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing. Cupping can be used in a TCM treatment for the following purposes.

  • Diagnostically
  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Blood Flow
  • Relaxation

Herbal Therapy

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) makes use of herbs and patent herbal formulas to strengthen organ function and support good health. Often herbs are used as the “building blocks” to help with some underlying deficiencies. Herbal formulas are a great cost-effective way (typically below $35 for a 2 week formula) to get your body the resources it needs to optimize your healing and get you on the road to recovery.

Ear Seeds

Ear seeds are small seeds placed strategically on the ear to stimulate auricular acupuncture points for a prolonged period of time, from a few days to a few weeks. Auricular therapy uses the same general guiding principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a great alternative for those looking for “needless Acupuncture”.
