Monika has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) for nearly ten years and in recent years added Doctor of Chiropractic to her resume. During her undergraduate education she had the opportunity to work as part of the medical team for the Dalhousie Men’s Varsity Basketball team where she gained valuable experience assessing and treating injuries on and off the court. Her time working with the basketball team introduced her to the value of soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation for recovery from injury. This led her to pursue a diploma in Massage Therapy from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto.
After working as an RMT for several years, Monika decided to further her passion for health care and rehabilitation by obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She also holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.
Monika understands that every patient is unique and strives to develop treatment and exercise plans to reflect this. She draws upon her background in massage therapy to deliver treatments that include soft tissue therapy as well as joint mobilizations, adjustments, and acupuncture.
Monika has volunteered as a massage therapist at various sporting events including the Boston Marathon and the Pan Am Games in Toronto, as well as local CrossFit events and triathlons.
Monika has recently made the move from her hometown of Toronto to Calgary and is very excited to experience all that Calgary has to offer. As she is an avid skier and runner, you can find her exploring the mountains and running trails in her downtime.
