Nick is a certified athletic therapist, having graduated from the Mt. Royal program in 2014. Athletic therapists specialize in musculoskeletal injury and are well equipped to take rehabilitation to the next level with their knowledge of strength training.
Nick has been working in private practice for the last 4 years and most recently spent a year and a half working at the Calgary Police Headquarters screening and treating recruits as well as active officers and civilian staff.
Nick came to a career in therapy through his own struggles with injury while he ran track at the University of Lethbridge. After finally receiving a comprehensive treatment and explanation that involved looking at the whole body, instead of just the area that hurt, Nick found himself inspired to begin investigating injury himself.
Since finishing the program, Nick has taken several continuing education courses about running injuries, tissue treatment, and most recently neurological dysfunction.
Along with being an athletic therapist, Nick is also a coach with the 3433 Sport Performance Centre at Repsol Centre downtown. Here he works with triathletes and runners of all distances and experience levels to help them meet their performance goals and manage injuries.
Nick’s rehabilitation process is tied into his coaching philosophy as both professions pull from each other. What are you trying to achieve and how can we best get you there? All avenues will be explored in a rehabilitation plan with Nick. There are no short cuts, and no stone will be left unturned!
