Twyla Walker
Registered Massage Therapist

FOCUSED | MOTIVATED | INTUITIVE

Twyla is a compassionate individual who is focused on treating soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, headaches and migraines with the general goal of helping people to improve their quality of life and stay active, pain-free. She is an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist with 3000hrs training from Makami College and specializes in Rapid Neurofascial Reset – a movement based, therapeutic soft tissue technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in alleviating tension and restrictions within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Using Rapid NFR as the foundation for her practice, her treatments often combine Myofascial Release, Dynamic Cupping, Active Isolated and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Trigger Point Therapy, Orthopedic Massage, and gentle Joint Mobilizations.

As a former Technical Trainer & Quality Assurance Coach, Twyla leverages her interpersonal skills and passion for helping people by incorporating dynamic movements, stretching and muscle conditioning in conjunction with her regular treatments. She is experienced with treating chronic painful conditions like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, carpal tunnel, patellofemoral knee pain, frozen shoulder, injuries related to motor vehicle accidents, sacroiliac joint pain, post surgery scar tissue mobilization and providing quality of life treatments to those suffering from fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic pain or autoimmune conditions. Throughout her career she has collaborated with Chiropractors, Acupuncturists and Athletic Therapists. She spent 2 years as an RMT onsite at Calgary Police Headquarters, where she gained a lot of experience working with those in high stress, physically demanding jobs.

Twyla was originally born in New Zealand and came to Canada with her family in ’98. In 2008 she embarked on a solo road trip across Canada from Nova Scotia, landing her in Calgary where she has called home ever since. In 2015 she left her corporate job behind in search of a more meaningful career and found Massage Therapy was a great way to pursue her passion for helping people on their healing journey. Her aim is for clients to leave with feeling a noticeable positive difference after every treatment with incremental improvement.

Outside her massage practice Twyla enjoys hiking with her dogs, dodgeball, fostering rescue dogs, yoga, canoeing, camping, SciFi and tabletop gaming.
